In Makati City, Metro Manila, Carlo “Magnum” Cabañero was born on June 26, 1984 whose passion of writing poetry and love letters started during childhood. He migrated to Toronto, Canada on spring 1997 where he met a friend that has the same interests such as Mavelous & Acero.
It was the summer of 2003 when Carlo and his another childhood friend named Ace (Acero) decided to bring back their passion of rapping as they lustfully started writing rhymes and recording in his own basement studio. As time passed by, they collaborated with many rap artists with different styles and talent. On February 2004, Carlo formed an underground label called “Kalibre Wrekordz”. The name was chosen because of he’s artist name was Magnum and “Kalibre” in Tagalog means a gun. Mostly Hiphop oriented people know that Magnum is a part of the most hated group called “Markado”. By the help of Franz, Markado successfully launched their first album on the same year where he performed for events in Toronto such as Pilipino National Day.
Magnum is not only a solo artist, but a producer of many famous beats performed by Kalibre Artists. Recently, Magnum performed at Mavelous’ concert where Toronto artists attended. If you’re a Torontonian, you probably seen Magnum performed live in front of a huge crowd. Magnum stands strong as he focused on Kalibre Records, his music and his personal life. Many people thinks they know Magnum and tried to label him based on other people’s words but what they don’t realize is that the haters and people who envy him will do everything to stop him from the Pinoy Rap industry.
