Usher - Here i stand
My first ever album review and I’m quite nervous because I don’t know if people will like how I review “Usher latest album”. His last album was a mind blowing and most of the tracks were a smash hit. Well I’m not been disappointed to Usher’s latest album but I expect more from it. I think this album has smooth RnB with mature approach.
Usher’s has sort list of collabos like his first single “Love in this club” featuring Young Jeezy which at first I was so in love with this song then my mind was blown apart by “Love in this club, Part 2? with Beyonce and Lil Wayne, I feel like I wanna hit the club hahahaha right now, then Jay-z featured in “Best thing” and lastly “What’s your name?” with Will.i.am was awesome. I was carried away by the song “This ain’t sex” hahaha for real I want more danceable tracks with a disco vibe like this from Usher. But if you want more real talk and more up beat I suggest “What’s a man to do” and “Appetite”. “Lifetime” has a real RnB flava and if you want a slow jam type of music try listening to “Love you gently” but before I forget “What’s your name” is a kind of song that I think people here in Philippines will sure to dance on.
His latest album maintains an attractive smooth tempo and contains a grown and sexy vibe with some ghetto flavor. When it comes to the selection of songs, the placing of materials is to refreshing to listen and he absolutely has a talent for picking the right producers, songwriters and the whole team in bringing the best of him.
I like the way he open a little bit of his personal life with the song “Prayer for you” which actually a short interlude for his newborn son love it.
All in all, I like this album and buying it to your local recording store is not a waste of money and still Usher still Usher.
Lyrical Assault - From the Ashes
Lyrical Assault is back with fresh tracks and surefire songs. I would say their new album titled “From the Ashes” is like a comeback album. Their intro song “Humanda na” is a very good introductory song for an album. Personally, when I first heard the first track which is “Humanda Na”, I feel like being blown away with their strong message and wanting to listen to their entire album. Also, the nice bouncy song “Groovin’” and another bouncy song “Sumabay” plus a rapid rhymin’ all-star track including the 187 Mobstaz are all good. Some of my fave tracks in this album are: Humanda na, Kawal ng Kalye, Lupang Tinubuan, Pagkakaisa, Salamin, Groovin’, Sumabay and Mobbin’.
I would say that Lyrical Assault’s new album never fails to impress me. If you’re still thinking if you’ll buy this album or not, I would recommend you to buy it.
It has 2 bonus track on the first 100 copy which is a more personal track titled “Lowdown” and “Toney Chrome”.
